US markets end flat

US markets ended flat on Tuesday. The Dow dropped two points to 10,545 while the Nasdaq slipped three points to 2,288. - Fortis gains on Rs 250cr investment plans - Gammon India slumps on Kota mishap - UTV, Sun erase gains, end flat - Markets near day"s high - Lacklustre trade continues - Sensex lacklustre; Sun Pharma down 2% Indian ADRs were also flat. Among them, Patni Computers surged 2% to $20.54. However, Dr Reddy"s shed 3.5% at $24.37. HDFC Bank, Wipro and Sterlite were down around 1% each.

Sebi sets new client-broker guidelines
In a move to bring greater transparency and discipline among market participants, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on Thursday put out mandatory requirements related to dealings between investors and stock brokers (including trading members). The move gives brokers the right to take actions against clients. The deadline for implementing the norms is March 31, 2010.
