Markets slip into red, rebounds

Markets have recovered after a brief drop into the red. - Mahindra Satyam most active stock on BSE, NSE - Markets open with positive gap - Key Levels: More upside above 15,350 - FIIs raise stake in Nifty firms to 43% - Infra growth, strong earnings propel markets - KEC Int hits 52-week high on Rs 471cr order The Nifty slipped to a low of 4,515 - down nine points from the previous close. The index is now at 4,537, up 13 points. The Sensex declined to a low of 15,199, down 220 points from the day"s high of 15,419 and is now at 15,274, up 43 points. _________________________________________________________ (Updated at 1014 hrs) The Nifty opened at 4,525, up 2 points. It touched a high of 4,575 and is now at 4,544 - up 20 points. Idea Cellular and Suzlon have surged 3.5% each to Rs 81 and Rs 100, respectively. Reliance Power, Unitech and Infosys have gained 2.5% each to Rs 173, Rs 87 and Rs 2,010, respectively. Nalco, Cairn India, DLF, Sterlite, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Steel, Ranbaxy and Hindalco have added 1-2% each. However, Ambuja Cement has dropped 2.5% to Rs 95. ITC, Grasim and Gail India have slipped 1.5% each to Rs 226, Rs 2,749 and Rs 340, respectively. Hero Honda, HDFC Bank, Punjab National Bank and Bharti Airtel are down over 1% each. Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex has added 53 points at 15,284, after opening at 15,272.

Kolhapur based Ghodawat Energy Private Ltd (GEPL), part of Ghodawat Industries, is planning to invest around Rs 1,300 crore to increase its wind turbine production and to set up wind farms.
