L&T adds 2% on good Q4 numbers

The stock touched a high of Rs 1,374 and finally ended up 2% at Rs 1,342. The stock gained strength and touched a high of Rs 1,362, up 4% from the day"s low. The stock is now trading at Rs 1,370, up 4.5% from its previous close. The counter has clocked a volume of 7,01,569 shares on the BSE. The net profit increased 3% to Rs 998.52 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009 from Rs 966.76 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago, the company said in a filing to the BSE. The company"s total income up 24% at Rs 10,835.79 crore from Rs 8,737.21 crore.
