Air India gets award for energy efficiency

The national carrier had registered a 12.5 per cent reduction in fuel consumption in 2008-09 in comparison to 2007-08. The company adopted various procedures in operational areas to help reduce carbon emissions, Air India officials said. "A total carbon dioxide saving of 237,755,146 kgs has been achieved from April, 2007 to March 31 2009," they added.
